Obviously, I cannot definitively answer that question. The problem is, even if they did, the requirement is wrong in the first place. Some people needing a job will agree to almost anything—the practice is manipulative—especially since the employer evidently knew the employees were not believers. It doesn’t make the practice right or ethical.

We assume everyone can simply refuse a job and go somewhere else. That isn’t the case.

Again, the mandatory nature of the practice itself is wrong.
