I will give you some hyperbole. However, you are leaving some false impressions. Let’s take your illustration that follows the above quote.
You mention we have “corrected” the Bible by dropping the name Lucifer. Technically, that’s not correcting the Bible, per se. The Bible was not corrected. Some translations were corrected — which isn’t close to what you suggested.
That’s like saying War and Peace is corrected when someone comes up with a better English translation to some obscure Russian term.
The translation is corrected, not the document from which it is translated.
This is not a disputation of all you’ve said, but for clarity’s sake one should distinguish between correcting translations, reviewing newer documentary findings (e.g., The Dead Sea Scrolls), and historical-literary-critical research.
