I find some of the comments telling.

While I have no use for celebrity worship, I do respect Kneau Reeves for being a decent person as I respect anyone else for being a decent person, no matter if they are celebrities, professionals, or blue collar workers. And most decent people are frankly embarrassed by fanfare.

But, you are right that there is a double standard. Emma Watson’s decisions and actions were a good example. And what women in the industry are praised for being decent human beings?

If guys are impressed with Kneau’s actions, I am good with that if he becomes a role model they attempt to emulate. If he becomes an excuse (i.e., “Well, I’m no Kneanu Reeves…”) then, as you point out, that’s a problem.

It’s a good thought piece designed to make us think. You accomplished your purpose. Thank you.
