I can’t really weigh in with much authority since I haven’t read Tolle.
I suppose this might be an problem if he suggested wealth is evil or one should generously give all one’s material goods away or if his teachings were in any way inconsistent with generating and accumulating wealth.
Personally, I think it is obscene for anyone to accumulate great wealth *without giving back* in some way. I don’t know Bill Gates or Warren Buffet—but I give them the benefit of the doubt: they have accumulated great wealth, but they are also giving back generously to what they believe will benefit the world (whether or not you agree with their vision isn’t the point here).
But as far as Tolle—I just don’t know his giving or his belief about wealth to give an informed opinion.
