I am happy I grew up in a religious tradition that did not buy into premillennialism—or the many variations of it—not that we didn’t have our own problems, mind you!

I never understood how anyone could read the text—especially the apocalyptic literature—without realizing it was a beautiful library filled with poetry, metaphor, hyperbole and other forms of literary devices!
